Village parade and festivals highlight independence day pride
Festivities in Parma, Ohio kicked off with the 9th annual Ukrainian Village Parade to celebrate Ukrainian Independence Day. This year’s parade consisted of nearly 50 groups including nonprofit organizations, churches, schools, social clubs and many more! The parade ended at St. Josaphat’s Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral where their two-day Ukrainian festival began. The event featured Ukrainian cuisine, dance performances, live music, beer garden, petting zoo and hayrides for attendees to enjoy. In addition, Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church hosted its annual Pierogi festival, which included delicious Ukrainian food, live music, pony rides, rock climbing and a lively disco party. UFCU is proud to be the main sponsor for these three special celebrations in honor of Ukraine’s 27th anniversary.
