2021 Annual Member Meeting and Election of Ukrainian FCU Board of Directors | Thursday September 23, 2021, 5:00 pm

St. Josaphat’s Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 940 East Ridge Rd, Rochester, New York.

The election of directors to the board will take place in compliance with NCUA bylaws Article V, Section A4. The Chairman of the Board of Directors has appointed a nominating committee. There are two (2) vacancies for the board of directors, which must be filled for 2021. The nominating committee has nominated one member for each vacancy. These nominations have been filed with the Secretary of the credit union by Friday, June 25, 2021. Nominations will also be accepted by petition signed by one percent (1%) of the membership, or two hundred twenty six (226) members. To be effective, the petition has to be accompanied by a statement of qualifications, biographical data, photograph and a signed certificate from the nominees stating that they are agreeable to the nomination and will serve if elected to office.

The closing date for receiving any nominations by petition is August 14, 2021. Nominations must be filed with the Secretary of the credit union, Eugene Lylak, at 824 East Ridge Rd, Rochester, NY 14621. Nominations will be posted in each credit union office thirty-five (35) days prior to the annual meeting. Elections will not be conducted by mail ballot and there will be no nominations from the floor if only one nominee for each position was submitted. In the event there is more than one nominee for any position to be filled, voting instructions will be provided to all members eligible to vote.

RICHARD HARRIS – Nominating Committee Candidate: New York State Licensed Funeral Director for forty five years. President of Paul W. Harris Funeral Home, established in 1946 by his father Paul Harysamchuk.  As President, developed a good business sense and familiarity with budgeting projections and managing many different types of employees. Member of Genesee Valley Funeral Directors Association, served as past Board Director. Other membership organizations include: New York State Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Association, Selected Independent Funeral Homes, Irondequoit Rotary, Knights of Columbus 4th degree, Irondequoit Chamber of Commerce, Irondequoit-Poltava Sister Cities Committee. Happily married to wife Billie, two grown sons, Michael and Richard F. and 4 grandchildren: Emily, Mike, Hudson & Hilden. Enjoys cooking, spending time with family and hobbies such as golf, boating, riding motorcycle and keeping classic cars.

 

YAROSLAV FATYAK – Nominating Committee Candidate: Current UFCU 1st vice-president and Board member since 2005. Born in Ivano-Frankivsk region, Ukraine; Lviv College of Food Industry degree in engineering. Immigrated to U.S. in 1989. Sponsored over 30 families from Ukraine who settled in Rochester. Member of Slavic Pentecostal Church in Spencerport, NY.  Former Chair of Church Audit Committee. Served as director of Ukrainian radio program «Jesus Christ – the Savior of the world».  Served on UFCU Educational and Scholarship Committees.  Active in working with the Consulate General of Ukraine to provide consulate services to UFCU members.  Participated in opening of new UFCU branches and worked with local communities to attract new members. Was a delegate to Ukrainian World Congress, World Conferences of Credit Unions in Ukraine; visited and supported many credit unions in Ukraine. Serves on UFCU Credit Union Service Organization – Ukrainian Members Services LLC as member-manager.
