Each year the Ukrainian-American Community Foundation, Inc. awards gifted Ukrainian FCU (UFCU) student-members with scholarships to help offset the cost of college expenses. In addition, the New York Credit Union Association (NYCUA) offers its own undergraduate scholarship to credit union members across New York state. In 2020 we’re proud to announce that our very own, Anya Wansha, achieved a rare feat and won both a UFCU and NYCUA scholarship! On Tuesday, July 7, 2020, we were finally able to gather safely and present both awards to Ms. Wansha, who will attend the University at Buffalo in the Fall. She currently plans to study biomedical engineering. We wish Ms. Wansha continued success as she pursues her dreams.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 / Coronavirus pandemic, the scholarship presentation was conducted privately and in observance of current CDC and state guidelines at our Main Office and Branch in Rochester, NY. Under normal circumstances all UFCU scholarship recipients are presented with their awards at our Annual Meeting each April, which in 2020 the UFCU Board of Directors postponed until September 2020.
